Putting her tiny little feet in my shoes/ foot-wears is her favorite these days. Be it anyone's slippers, she will put her feet and walks cautiously yet successfully. She knows how to correctly position the slippers, and without making mistake wears them like a pro :)
But as soon as her slippers and shoes are asked to wear, there comes a big drama. Guess all kids are the same. Seeing her sometimes make me remember my childhood activities.

The Ganesh festival is going on in full swing, this post came out a bit late, but its said better late than never. So here comes my little bit gyan with personal experience about the festival.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a hindu festival to celebrate the birthday of the god 'Ganesha'. This festival lasts for 10 days. Some people do fasting on this day, and after bringing home the ganpati idol and offering modaks/laddoos break their fast.

Home made Laddoos
In north, and central India, huge clay idols of Ganesha are places on the raised platforms in homes, as well as outdoors. For outdoors, some people form committees in the society and collect money (charity/chanda)  from the residents for Ganesh Festival. From the collected money, the huge pandals are created, Ganesha idol is purchased from the idol-makers, and on the D-day 'Ganesh Chaturthi' the ganesha idols are established in these pandals along with performing special pooja which is known as 'PRANPRATHISHTHA' .The preist follows all the religious ceremonies for this pooja. Aarti and pooja are performed regularly for the next 10 days in these pandals. People visit these pandals to have blessings of Lord Ganesha. They offer modaks and laddoos which are known as the favourites of Ganeshji.

In my childhood days, we also use to bring ganpati at our home, and do the poojas, aartis, and distributing prasad. That was really fun and a nice experience. As kids we believed that ganpati has his sleeping time, so do not disturb god. As a result, we never use to allow anyone to open the curtains of the idol before sunset. After sunset, we use to switch on the illuminating lights to our jhanki ( the arrangement of ganesha idol along with decoration). Lighting the lamp, doing the pooja ( we ourselves were the preists...bacche bhagwan ka roop hote hain :P ), singing the aarti by reading in the book (hahaha) and then comes the prasad- the laddoos.Really that was simply awesome. And after that handed over our ganeshji to the procession people for visarjan in the river, as beings kids we were not allowed to go to the river to do it ourself.

Coming further, after PranPrathishtha, for 10 days that is from Ganesh Chaturthi to Ananta Chaturdashi, Lord Ganesha is worshipped. On the 11th day, these Ganesha idols of the pandals and those pratistith(established) in the homes, all are taken out in processions, with music and dance, to be immersed in the nearby lakes or rivers, or sea. This ceremony is popularly known as 'VISARJAN'. The visarjan symbolizes the journey of Ganesha to his home 'Kailash' while taking the misfortunes of all the people. ' Ganpati bappa moriya, agle baras tu jaldi aa ' are the favourite lines people rhyme along visarjan. The whole 10 days mark a great celebration of Ganesha, the whole atmosphere seems purified and divine.
Posting the picture of Ganpati at my mom's place.
Jai Ganesh !!
While I was in Pune and Mumbai, I witnessed a different flavour of Ganesha Utsav. In Maharsathra Ganpati is kind of favourite god. You will find them in every household, his temple in almost every area, nook and corners, and chaurahas. The famous 'DagduSethGanpati' is the charm of pune. Being in pune gave me the opportunity to take the blessings and feel the divine atmosphere during the AARTI in the temple. Photography is not allowed inside the temple, but when the dagduseth ganpati comes out of the temple in the ganesh festival, the long lines are natural to be formed. After ganesh utsav ends, the ganpati is again seated in the temple.

The processions taken out for visarjan in Pune and Mumbai are something to witness. Huge crowd, dhol, music, colours, long traffic jams, people dare not to go out on the visarjan day.

The aarti in marathi which is sung in every ganpati temple is something which melts honey in the ears.I heard it first time in Siddhivinayak Temple, Mumbai and then Dagduseth Ganpati Pune. It is simply awesome.

                                                            "Ganpati Bappa Moriya"

As usual, she got ready excitingly for the school. Reached her school in kid's cycle. After entering the school gate, she was not ready to leave my hand. She is liking the games, toys, playhouses there, but not ready to leave mumma. She wants to play with mumma in the whole stuff available there. On reaching first started with the kids cycles available, she was not ready to shake hand or do namstey gesture to anyone in the school. I tried to engage her in many school activities available, she went to play but dragged me. She played with ball, but that too with mumma, with blocks but again with mumma, and so on. She was not ready to leave me. After staying for good 1 hour( as the admissions are going on, so got the chance to spend time in the school) with her, at last i left her at 09:48 am. And now it is 10:50 am, and yet no phone call from school. Desperately waiting for the phone call as I saw her crying when I she saw me leaving. Also I stayed for few minutes in the school premise and there heard her loud cries. Hopefully she would have stopped crying and started engaging in games and other kids. Just waiting waiting and waiting for the time to go and pick her up from the school. Not only me everybody is waiting to get the response about her behaviour for today's stay in the school.
In the meanwhile posting her second day pics !!

At 11:15 we went to her school to pick her up. We were quite contented to see pari with the madam, not crying, engaged with her. Ma'm updated us that she was crying but then slept on her shoulder for few minutes, got up and cross checked if ma'm still holding her, then came into the ofice and sitting with her. Pari was muttering mumma mumma, but she convinced her pretending making a phone call to mumma. Thankfully she stayed, and ate a bite of banana too, and had drink water also.
Improvement from the first day :)

This is the excitement !!

This is how I go to school !!
Today on 1st September 2014, my so little cutie pie went to playschool, her first day at school. She was so excited to go that she got all dressed up without any fuss. She always ask me to put kajal bindi on her forehead, and at the ear sideways. I dressed up her in her papa's favorite dress, a white long Aline dress with a cutesy polka dotted pink waist ribbon. After fully dressed up clicked her pictures , and touchwood she is looking really adorable (kahin nazar na lag jaye). By the way kido loves her school bag, waterbottle and lunch box. She put her bags on the shoulders, and waterbottle in the neck and started posing. Such a camera friendly girl she is.
A lifetime memorable memory for me, as i prepared her first lunch with her favourite 'aloo' in the rice khichdi. Though she ate it not at school but at home :D
We ( me and her grandfather) took her school in her tricycle, and she really enjoyed the ride. On the way she asked for her water bottle from me and kept it on her cycle. After reaching the school, i had to spent 20 minutes with her, and then left her there. When we reached home, we were just waiting for the phone call from school asking her to pick up, as we knew she wont stay there. And finally at 10 O'Clock the phone call arrived and we rushed to pickup  pari. When reached to the school she was sitting on the lap of the teacher miss, holding her 'Alpenliebe' toffee in her hand. Seeing me pari just cheered up and asked me to open the candy. The teacher was also laughing that she wasnt yet not ready to listen to anybody only blabbering 'mumma mumma' and now as she saw me she is so normal eating candy. Thats how the kids are during the first day of school. And yeah she is the youngest kid in the school. All other kids are 2 or 2+ years of age.

We came home, and she ask for bf and slept comfortably and convincingly in my lap. Just cant stop myself from kissing her innocent face. She had been through a lot of crying for the first day, but have to adjust her to this new schedule.Slowly within a week or two she will like to go and play in the school.

Ready for the school

With bag and the waterbottle

Mumma, that's my ride to school !!
